A Woman First: First Woman is a memoir of former President of the United States Selina Meyer, published in October 2018. The book chronicled Meyer's tenure in that position from 2016 to 2017, as well as her life prior to her presidency.
This is the second book published by Meyer. Her first book, Some New Beginnings: Our Next American Journey, was published in 2015.

Reception[]
Critical reception to the book has been negative. Publisher Weekly said "Scattered and disjointed, much like the Meyer presidency." The New York Times said "We've been stunned by the revelations and achievements of the Meyer presidency over the last few days. Why aren't they in the book?" The New York post called it "Remainder City".

To coincide with the premiere of the seventh season of Veep, Penguin Random House published A Woman First: First Woman on March 19, 2019. An audiobook read by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale was released on April 23, 2019.
There are several differences between the real-life publication of the book and the in-universe version. The in-universe A Woman First appears to be at least twice as long and features a picture of Selina on her pony Chicklet. The real-life publication is visibly shorter and has sarcastic quotations on the back sleeve from Laura Montez, Andrew Doyle, Stuart Hughes, Minna Häkkinen, and Leon West, as well as a legal notice from Catherine Meyer.
